# Google Meet

> Add a Google Meet link to every appointment of a service, and get it to the client on WhatsApp

Turn on Google Meet for a service and every appointment booked into it gets a Meet link — created on the professional's Google Calendar and sent to the client on **WhatsApp**. It works for every booking source: by hand, by an AI agent, through the API or by [Atlas](/en/calendar/atlas).

## Before you start

<Check>
  **At least one member of the service has Google Calendar connected** — **Calendar → Settings → Profiles → (their profile) → Calendar Sync**. See [Google Calendar](/en/calendar/google-calendar). Until then the checkbox is disabled.
</Check>

<Check>
  **The Google Meet reminder template is registered** on your WhatsApp account — **Calendar → Settings → Notifications**, row **Reminder with Google Meet**. Until Meta approves it, reminders go out without the link. See [Notifications](/en/calendar/notifications#reminder-with-google-meet).
</Check>

<Check>
  **Calendar** Admin permission, to edit the service.
</Check>

## Turn it on

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the service" icon="layer-group">
    **Calendar → Settings → Manage Services** → edit icon on the service.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tick the checkbox" icon="video">
    Scroll to **Google Meet** — *Applies only to this service, for every appointment type.* — and tick **Create a Google Meet link for every appointment**.

    </Frame>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Read the warnings" icon="triangle-exclamation">
    * *Without Google Calendar connected, bookings with \{names} won't get a Meet link.* — those members need to connect their own Google Calendar.
    * *WhatsApp reminders are off, so clients only get the link from the AI agent when they book.* — turn the **Reminder** on in Notifications.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save" icon="circle-check">
    **Save Changes**. New bookings get a link from now on.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  **The link is created on the appointment's own professional's Google Calendar.** If that professional hasn't connected Google, their appointments get no link — even with the box ticked and other members connected.
</Warning>

## What the client gets

The client gets the link on **WhatsApp only**:

| When | How |
| - | - |
| **At booking, through an AI agent** | The agent shares the link in the conversation |
| **Before the appointment** | The **Reminder with Google Meet** replaces the normal reminder, at the reminder's send times |

The client is **never added as a guest on the Google event** and gets no Google email. When they open the link, Google shows *Ask to join*; the professional admits them from the call.

<Note>
  An appointment booked by hand or through the API gets its link from the reminder only — make sure the **Reminder** is on and has at least one send time.
</Note>

## Where you see it

<Frame caption="An appointment with a Google Meet link">
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/dialtu-0be120d3/YxP0lmQ14fRTRVcV/images/en/calendar/event-meet.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=YxP0lmQ14fRTRVcV&q=85&s=c756b34bad87dff277391ec8bce49dcf" alt="Appointment window for Noah Davis's Telemedicine appointment, Confirmed, with a 'Join Google Meet · meet.google.com/abc-defg-hij' line and a copy button in the header, above Members and Details." width="2880" height="1800" data-path="images/en/calendar/event-meet.png" />
</Frame>

* **Appointment window** — **Join Google Meet** in the header, plus a copy button (**Copy Meet link** → *Meet link copied*).
* **The professional's Google Calendar** — the event carries the Meet link as usual.
* **Accepted co-professionals** — their own Google copy of the event.

## Check that it works

* Book a test appointment into the service with a connected professional.
* Open it on the agenda: the header shows **Join Google Meet**.
* In Notifications, **Reminder with Google Meet** reads **Approved**.

## What doesn't exist

| Not available | Detail |
| - | - |
| **Zoom, Teams or other video tools** | Google Meet only |
| **A per-appointment or per-type switch** | It's on or off for the whole service, every appointment type |
| **Email invitations to the client** | The client isn't a Google guest; the link travels on WhatsApp |
| **Your own template for the Meet reminder** | It's always Dialtu's |
| **A Meet link for professionals without Google** | The professional's own connection creates it |
