    **Calendar Service** — any service if you're an Admin or View All. A professional with one service inherits it; with several, picks their **Specialty**.

    **Appointment Type** — **Call**, **In-Person** or **Video call**. Only the types the service allows are offered.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Assign to staff (Admins)" icon="users">
    **Assign to Staff** lists the members of that service who serve that type — *Filtered by the selected service and appointment type.* Leave **Auto-assign / Any available** and the service's allocation strategy picks the professional. View-All users always auto-assign; a professional books themselves.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick the day and time" icon="clock">
    **Day** — upcoming days only; **PICK** opens a date picker. **Available times** lists the real free slots (*Times in New York*) for that day, honouring hours, existing bookings, Google busy time and the service's booking rules.

      *No available times for this day* means the service's duration doesn't fit in what's left — try another day or a shorter service.
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save" icon="circle-check">
    Press **Save**. You'll see *Event booked successfully* and the card appears with the grey **Manual** dot. Reminders are scheduled according to [Notifications](/en/calendar/notifications).
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What doesn't exist

* **Title, notes or extra questions** — only AI bookings carry them.
* **A custom duration** — the service's duration (or the block's slot length) decides.
* **A reminder picker** — reminder times are calendar-wide.
* **Booking in the past.**
