# Billing plans

> Build the plans you sell, set your own rates, and see your margin as you go

Billing plans are where you decide **what your organizations get and what it costs them**. You
author them yourself, they exist only in your account, and the prices are yours to set.

## How pricing works

Dialtu charges you a **wholesale** rate. You set a **retail** rate for your organizations. The
difference is your margin, and the plan editor shows it while you type.

<Warning>
  **Retail can never go below wholesale.** Every rate field has a floor, labelled with your own
  cost, and the plan won't save if you go under it.
</Warning>

Your wholesale rates are set by Dialtu for your account specifically. You can see them in the
plan editor — they're shown as **Your cost** next to each field — but you can't change them.

## Creating a plan

**Organizations → Billing Plans → Create billing plan**. A three-step editor.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Name and headline price" icon="tag">
    A name and description your organizations will see, plus:

    * **Monthly price (\$)** — informational only. Dialtu never charges your organizations;
      you bill them yourself, outside the platform.
    * **Monthly credits included** — the allowance the plan grants each cycle. This one is
      real, and it's what the monthly reset sets the balance to.

    <Frame caption="Step 1 — what the plan is called and what it includes">

  <Step title="Choose the features" icon="sliders">
    Four cards, **all on by default** — **Voice Agents**, **SMS**, **WhatsApp** and **Insight
    Agents**. Click to toggle.

    <Note>
      A feature you switch off is **hidden entirely** from organizations on that plan — not
      shown-but-disabled. This is what makes real tiering possible.
    </Note>

    <Frame caption="Step 2 — click a card to include or exclude that product">

  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the rates" icon="microchip">
    One tab per rate-bearing feature you enabled — Voice, SMS, WhatsApp. *Insight Agents has no
    rates, so it produces no tab.*

    Each tab holds a grid with **one row per AI model**, showing **Your cost**, your price, and
    a live **Margin** badge. Every field starts pre-filled at your wholesale floor, so a plan is
    valid from the moment you open it — you're marking up from cost, not building from zero.

    Two tabs add flat fields on top of the grid:

    * **Voice** — minimum credits per call
    * **SMS** — credits per base SMS, and per AI-completion SMS
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  **Some costs sit outside your plan entirely.** Premium voice engines carry a per-minute
  surcharge, and phone numbers carry carrier costs — monthly, per call minute, and per SMS.
  Both are billed on top of the rates you set here.
</Note>

<Frame caption="Your cost on the left, your price in the middle, your margin on the right">

</Frame>

<Note>
  In the shot above every price still sits **exactly at cost**, so each margin badge reads
  `+0.00 cr · 0%`. That's the starting state of a new plan — raise a price and the badge turns
  green with the difference.
</Note>

## What you can't set

|                        | Why                                       |
| ---------------------- | ----------------------------------------- |
| **Call rate limits** | Inherited from your own Dialtu plan |
| **Wholesale rates** | Set by Dialtu, per partner |
| **Phone number rates** | Pass-through from the carrier — view-only |

<Note>
  Phone rates are visible from the Phones tab, but the modal is read-only: *"Rates are managed
  by the platform and are not editable here."*
</Note>

## Editing, deactivating, deleting

Each plan card carries three actions, and the middle one is the useful one:

| Action         | What happens                                                                      |
| -------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Edit** | Reopens the wizard. Nothing is locked, even with organizations on the plan |
| **Deactivate** | The plan stops appearing when you create new organizations. Existing ones keep it |
| **Delete** | Removes it from the picker. Data is kept |

<Tip>
  **Deactivate is what you usually want** when you retire a plan. It stops new sales without
  touching the clients already on it. Tick **Show inactive** to see deactivated plans again.
</Tip>

Changes to **included credits** take effect at the next monthly reset, not immediately.

<Warning>
  **A plan in use can't be deleted.** You'll get *"Plan is still assigned to organizations.
  Reassign them first."* Move every organization onto another plan before deleting.
</Warning>

## Your own plan

The plan attached to your own workspace is your **Dialtu** tier — Solo, Starter, Pro or
Enterprise — not one of yours. It doesn't appear in this catalogue, and it's what sets your
wholesale rates and your **maximum number of organizations**.
