This guide covers the Coexistence method, which lets you keep using your everyday WhatsApp app while the number is connected to Dialtu.
If you’d rather have a new, dedicated number with no app on a phone, see Cloud API or Coexistence.

Before you start

The Facebook account linked to your WhatsApp Business number.
Access to the WhatsApp app on the phone holding that number — you’ll need it to scan a QR code.
Permission to manage WhatsApp inside Dialtu.
Have the phone with you from the start. The process pauses halfway to scan a QR code, and the Meta window must stay open while you do it.

Steps

Go to Settings

In the Dialtu sidebar, scroll to the bottom and click Settings.

Choose Coexistence

In the Connect a new WABA window, choose WhatsApp Business App (Coexistence) and click Continue.

If you don’t see this window and go straight to Meta, your account is set up for Cloud API only. Contact support if you need Coexistence.

Sign in to Meta

A Meta popup opens. Sign in with the Facebook account linked to the number you want to connect, then click Continue.
Don’t close the Meta window until you’re done. If your browser blocks popups, allow them for this site and start again.

Select the portfolio and app

Choose your business portfolio and, under WhatsApp Business Account, select Connect a WhatsApp Business app. Then Next.

Enter country and number

Enter the country code and your WhatsApp Business number. Then Next.

Confirm details and accept the terms

Check the details are correct, accept the terms and conditions, and continue.

Link from your WhatsApp app

When the QR code appears in the popup, open the WhatsApp app on the phone holding that number and scan it from:Settings → Account → Linked devices → Link a business platform
This is the step people get stuck on. The QR is scanned from inside the WhatsApp app, not with the phone’s camera and not from WhatsApp Web.

Continue and finish

Go back to the popup and click Continue, then Finish.

Verify the connection in Dialtu

Confirm your number appears under Connected accounts.

The connection can take a few minutes to show up. If it doesn’t appear, refresh the page before trying again.

If something goes wrong

Troubleshooting

Blocked popup, cancelled signup, a number stuck on Pending, and other cases.

Next step

Build your first WhatsApp agent

With the number connected, you can put an agent to work.
